You are in need of nothing, no thing, to be spiritual or to have a spiritual experience. There is no prerequisite. You do not have to purchase anything in order to connect with Source. You do not need to find the right house or job or read the perfect book before you can live from your soul. There is nothing to wait for and nothing to possess. Candles and incense and beads may be pretty, but they are things. You are not (but for this temporary form). YOU ARE AN ETERNAL SPIRIT MADE OF LIGHT AND LOVE! All that you will ever need in order to experience God and 'be spiritual' was within you before you took your first breath. And it will always be. Yesterday. Today. ReplyDeleteI had these thoughts one night as I sat awake at 3am in my totally messy (o.m.g.) home in a loud neighborhood in an non-beautiful city and considered how much we assume everything will fall into place when we finally get things cleaned up and organized with the correct feng shui, and the walls painted, and our meditation corner set up with that special crystal and the little bamboo fountain and... and ... and. You even read about how you need a special sacred space, quiet, peaceful environment, connection with nature, etc in order to really experience higher states of consciousness. But the thing is... I've had AMAZING and BEAUTIFUL experiences in the past two years and they all took place in this funky space with no candles, no incense, no nothing. We only hold ourselves back by thinking we need to do something, buy something, put something together to "get there" SO THAT THEN we can have the experiences. I do believe these things can HELP, yes. It HELPS to take a walk in the park, to be able to sit on a deck in the evening with the wind blowing through the trees or to have a special altar for focus and special items and nice surroundings. Of course. I won't deny I still want these things. But this rushing around 'new age' way of thinking, always busily seeking without just giving up to the higher self and LETTING it happen only holds us back. We don't need to do anything to be spiritual. WE ARE SPIRITS. DUH. Know what I mean? If I can be blown away by Spirit in the midst of this unplanned, painful, messy chaos... it shows me that these physical items I used to long for IN ORDER TO FIND SPACE/TIME TO GROW are just not necessary! Just breathe. NOW. TODAY. Know what I mean? Thanks dear <3
Oh, Deborah....you seem not to be capable of opening your mouth without saying the most profound and wonderful things....your devotion "You are in need of nothing" is profound enough....but then you go ahead and make that comment!!...if there is anything I need to hear more right here and now than this, I can't imagine what it could possibly be....Bless You!!
